Milton’s Long Career as Arizona Peace Officer
Jef Milton, one of the oldest operation officials in Arizona, made Naco his base for years of service on the border. A Wells Fargo messenger during a train robbery near Fairbank, he fought the outlaws, was wounded, and helped capture Broncho Bill and his confederates. Born in Louisiana and a Texas ranger by training, Milton later chased bandits north of Clifton, earning a reputation as a veteran peace officer with dramatic frontier exploits.
