Magnolia Grange Fair Ends With Strong Exhibits
The Magnolia Grange Fair closed Friday after a solid showing despite lower attendance. One hundred exhibitors entered over 800 items with $660 in premiums paid, more livestock than in recent years, and strong demonstrations by Wm Newell and Miss Newell's Arabian horses. Rain dampened ball games and attendance, but overall spirit remained high and organizers urged bigger crowds in future years.

Sisters' School Opens With New Beginners Class
The opening of school September 6th saw a steady enrollment with a new class of beginners and some transfers. The interior was spruced up during vacation with fresh coating on black boards and furnace repairs. A bazaar on Oct 20 24 benefits the school to fund a steam heating plant. Music pupils begin at St Marys convent and alumna Maxine McGrath returns to Mt St Clare Academy to finish high school next June.
