Toluca City Council approves bonded debt payments and city attorney ordinance
Toluca Illinois held a special meeting April 10 with Acting Mayor Berry presiding. The council approved a resolution to pay numerous series bonds and special assessments and adopted an ordinance defining the city attorney duties and salary. Members Blazina Maccono Rusciolelli Slattery Peterson supported the actions.

Mrs Christ Schwiderski Dead in Toluca Area
Mrs Christ Schwiderski a longtime Toluca resident died at her country home last Sunday night about eleven with heart disease listed as the cause. Born Germany March 2 1851 she was 62 years old. She came to America in 1871 settling in Marshall County and married Christ Schwiderski about 1875. Nine children were born to the couple with three deceased. Surviving are husband and children Michael Henry, Christ, Lawrence Anna Rose and Lena. Funeral services were at St Ann church conducted by Rev Father Walsh, with burial in Lacon.

Beckwith Dies at 65 in Argyle Minnesota
Albert Beckwith died at his Argyle home on March 27 1913 aged 65. He was born February 25 1848 in Magnolia Illinois and moved to Marshall County Illinois before settling in Minnesota. He married Ida Bolton in 1883 and had three children Chester Harry and Lorena. He joined the Modern Woodmen about 28 years ago but left when assessments rose. Funeral held in Argyle April 3 1913 conducted by Rev A M Asadoorian. cremation requested by family in Saint Paul.

Golden wedding celebrated by Somerfields at 60 years
Mr and Mrs G Somerfield marked their sixtieth wedding anniversary in this city with nearly fifty guests. The Lutheran ceremony was at 2 pm officiated by Rev Schmidt then a home reception and a late supper. The couple, who left Germany in 1862, married in 1863 near LaRoge. They spent years farming Marshall County and raised eight children, five living, with three attending the anniversary.
