Titonka school notes recent class officer elections across the senior through freshman grades with officers named for each class. Juniors chose Footloose for a forthcoming play to debut November 6 at Tyke Theatre, with casting to follow. Senior portrait day occurred in Mason City. Ongoing home economics, biology, and general science work described, plus eighth through seventh and sixth grade class activities and projects including geography, steel, electricity, water cycle, and classroom crafts.

German Township Fall Farm Bureau Meeting Hears Lectures
The German Township farm bureau fall meeting was held at the center school house last Friday evening. G B Sonnenberg was named chairman for the coming year. Guest speakers included A L Brown county extension director who spoke on new cat varieties and immature corn drying, and Miss Peckham home economist who discussed nutrition and health. Music by Irna Schmidt Mae Boyken and Harris Sonnenberg, with a program by Valley Victory Club led by Mrs Henry Plasier. Good attendance, lunch served, and a pleasant time reported.

Lakota Lady Dies Burial Saturday
Lucy Gertrude Henricksen Frye born February 21 1888 in Schleswig Holstein Germany died September 26 1945 in Fort Dodge Iowa at 57 years. She lived near Blue Earth Minnesota before moving to Lakota eleven years ago. Survived by husband Carlyle Frye and six grandchildren with several children and siblings. Funeral Saturday 2 p m at First Presbyterian Lakota, burial Blue Earth Cemetery.

Harley Larsen Missing After Catalina Island Plane Crash
Flight Officer Harley Larsen, son of Mr and Mrs L B Larsen of Mason City, is reported missing after a Ventura aircraft collided with another plane off Catalina Island. The crash, which occurred last Wednesday on the west coast, left no trace of the Ventura or its occupants, and survivors from the other plane were rescued. Larsen had been stationed in Santa Ana since September after a 80 day Mason City leave and a prior six months in Europe.

Former WAVES Bride Weds Rhode Island Soldier in NY
Mabel Bagck of Mapleton Minnesota and Niles Fellin of Bristol Rhode Island united in marriage on a Friday evening August 41 at a chapel in the naval training station in the Bronx. Applicants must certify land is free of noxious weeds and pledge to grow as certified seed and to offer half of their production for sale to county farmers in 1947.
