Five men from each township in Kossuth will gather in Algona March 2 and 3 to learn about the 1939 soil conservation program. The session will cover farm maps, payment calculations, and maximizing income under the law. Acreage allotments are being mailed. the average farm will be limited to 50 acres of corn and 650 acres of small grains, with about $400 anticipated per farm. Fred W. A heavy snowstorm hit central Iowa on Monday causing greatly impaired traffic though not total closures. Several inches fell with a strong wind but temperatures were not extremely cold. Mails were delayed, especially longer routes, as heavier snow moved farther east and south. Western and southern Iowa were harder hit.
