Payments To Co-Operators Under Farm Allotments
Kossuth County farmers weighing AMA Farm Program participation should note payments are based on total acres in the 1938 allotments and not on reductions from past averages. Corn, wheat, and general depleting payments apply to every acre in the allotment if at least 80 percent is planted. for example a 40 acre corn allotment with 40 bushels per acre yields a $160 corn payment. Allotments reflect past acreage and soil practice, but payments depend only on the allotments.

Farm allotment impact on payments described
On a farm with a fasP acre age of 50 acres a 40 acre born allotment would create a 10 acre reduction. With a normal yield of 40 bushels per acre and a payment of 10 cents per bushel the cornt payment would total 4 per acre for each of the 40 acres in the allotment amounting to $100.
