Control of Potato Blight and Garden Tips
Prescribed spray for potato blight is Bordeaux mixture made from four pounds copper sulphate four pounds hydrated lime and fifty gallons water. A small gardener uses four level tablespoons of the dry powder mixed with one gallon water. For Colorado potato beetle add two tablespoons calcium arsenate per gallon. Copper lime dust is an alternative but less effective. Avoid letting cattle near sweet clover before dehorning or castrating due to clotting issues.
