Mrs Edward Garman entered Mercy hospital in Mason City for surgery on Monday. Mr and Mrs Reese Martin visited Milwaukee for their daughter Sharlene at St Mary's Academy returning Monday night. Pvt Donald West returned to Camp Chaffee Ark after furlough with family. Mrs Lucy Brabee RN spent weekend with Frimms. Mrs Julius Kelch and two children visited Worthington MN relatives. Mr and Mrs Glenn Fuller and family visited John O Brien's in Mason City. Mrs Justine Becker attended funeral for granddaughter Donna Jean Kollasch in Whittemore. Eugene Huff of Camp Gordon Ga on fifteen day furlough at home. Brother Lyle at Camp Westover MA due to discharge in March. Oscar Monson left February 81 with Kossuth County group for army service.

Creamery meeting, speakers, and county events noted

350 patrons attended the 82nd annual creamery meeting at the Legion hall with Frank Barker of Des Moines as guest speaker and Leo Vincent of Mason City speaking. The high school band performed during lunch and John Burton showed films on Brucellosis. Reelected to the board were Albert Johnson Jurg en Skow and Ben Schrauth.

Ground Observers Report Nine Planes

Nine men reported for duty on Sunday as one unknown plane was reported two assimilated calls were sent and one young man earned his wings. The V F.W. is in charge of the GOC here with a sky watch set for February 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

American Legion Auxiliary Plans Ground Observers Corps Event

The February meeting at the Truesdell home reports 16 senior and one junior member. A Ground Observers Corps program is planned for Feb 18 at the high school with local observers needed on Feb 20 and every two weeks.
