Co operative Livestock Shipping Grows Across Story County
Story county leads the nation in cooperative livestock shipping with 11 of 14 towns hosting associations. Starting from 15 to 26 members, these groups expanded to over 200 per association after initial stock shipments, saving about 75 dollars per car. Five associations formed last year earned profits near 28 thousand dollars, guided by Knute Espe, a top livestock marketing authority. A portable forage silo is offered for sale by O H Braddock.
