Whittemore farmer opposes North Town Pike paving route
A Whittemore farmer criticizes Corey’s proposed paving plan for the road north of Algona, arguing the county should connect west to Emmetsburg with fewer railroad crossings. He contends Whittemore and Cresco elevators show strong market activity and questions farmer support for a northern route.

Local notes on Miss Muslang visit and county fair plans
Miss Anna Muslang of Chicago arrived Tuesday evening for an extended visit with Boye Diedaman and family. Misa Fulsang is sister of John Fulsang, a soldier who died in France. Several local businesses close early evenings. Remember the Kossuth County Fair September 1-5, 1919 with an aviator from the county. Survey work on the Ban Croft to Titonka road may precede new gravelling law. Many residents visit relatives in Ringsted and Forest City. A baby girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. George Iden. A heavy rain fell Tuesday night. Notice— painting services offered by Miller Bros.
