Fairmont Citizens Buy Interlaken Park for Public Use
Fairmont citizens have purchased Interlaken Park in Northwest Kossuth County from an outside buyer. A new corporation with $50,000 authorized capital will operate the park at least this year, with $16,000 already subscribed. Founding incorporators include Leo J. Seifert and others. The Fairmont Memorial Association option has expired. price is $60,000 and plans call for a landscape architect sketch to guide memorial and recreational use.

Wesley-Ben G. Studer and sons, Shorthorn breeders near town, showed the champion bull and female at the Iowa Shorthorn Breeders' state show at the state fairgrounds in Des Moines. The top selling animal was "Blinkbenny 78rd," a roan yearling heifer bought by H J Pankratz of Mountain Lake Minnesota for 1250 dollars. The champion bull sold for 1150 dollars and the champion female for 1100 dollars. The event featured 29 heifers and 27 bulls.
