It then discusses the rise of automobile house trailers as a new, inexpensive mobile living option with tax considerations and the potential impact on public revenue. Plan to Speed Work Adds 117 Investigators in Downstate Offices
Martin Ginie of Savanna became an investigator for old age assistance in this county, joining 11% more investigators assigned downstate this week to speed processing of applications. Cook County gets 150 new investigators, all state employees. Ten more staff join the state auditor to focus on writing old age assistance checks. Officials say the goal is to act on all applications within three months and reinvestigate recipients every 5 or 6 months, with a November or December deadline for action.
