Fire at Lanark Residence Under Investigation
Sheriff Ray Westfall and a state fire marshal from Rockford arrived Friday to investigate a fire at the Robert Haley residence in Lanark discovered about two o’clock Thursday morning. Firefighters rescued Ken Roth Bower from the building, he was treated at Freeport hospital for smoke inhalation. Leaves found at the blaze prompted state marshal and sheriff to join the inquiry. Mr Haley and his daughter June were away. Damage estimated at 300 dollars and covered by insurance.
