Christian Church Bible School Day Highlights and Plans
Family day at the Christian church drew a large crowd with 145 attending Bible school. The H. E. Green family led special numbers and Our Orchestra premiered, with members including E. O. Hemmer, Geo. Lohmier, H. E. Green, M. A. Cate, EB. P. Schaich, and Miss Green. Mr. Schaich preached a fitting sermon, and a solo was sung by Mrs. N. D. French and Miss Winnie Holland. Schaich left for Indianapolis to attend a Deciples of Christ convention. The Aid Society held its regular dinner, and the second Sunday in November will be Men and Boys Sunday, with a special program planned. No sermons next Lord’s Day due to pastors’ absence, but Bible school proceeds for all ages.

Entertainment ranged from gym stands to auditorium events including wrestling boxing minstrel show and beauty contests drawing large crowds well past eleven. Savanna Man Held on Liquor Charge in County Jail
George McGinnis of Savanna is jailed on $1000 bond after arrest by Chief Henry Truninger for possession of intoxicating liquor. A suitcase with moonshine was found, and at arraignment before Police Magistrate Fred Cole he waived examination. Police also found what may be part of a still at the Billy Wurster farm north of Savanna, the renter’s locale.
