Ben Stransky a longtime executive and general counsel resigns as president of Northwestern Illinois Utilities effective immediately after a board meeting on Monday November 26 Byron T Gifford of Chicago elected to succeed him as president Gifford also heads the Federal Public Service Corporation which has acquired much of the stock in the utility The company will keep offices and operations in Savanna Mt Carroll Thomson and Chadwick with current staff retained and continuing management roles noted as part of a broader ownership consolidation in the regional utilities sector
