Miss Maryhe Grayless, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Grayless, wed Merle Welch at the Latter Day Saints church in Chestnut Park Savanna with attendants Gladys Platt and William Plattenberg. They will live in Savanna after a Chicago wedding trip. Also, Miss Corrine Dotzel and Raymond Clifton Jr. were married in Dubuque in a single ring service with attendants Helene Haven and Fay Grayless. Corrine is a Scales Mound native and nurse. Clifton is Savanna born and a Navy veteran now in local business.

Pension and ADC payments rise in October Illinois report

State Auditor Arthur C. Leuder reports October old age pension payments totaling 4,665,556 and Aid to Dependent Children disbursements of 1,651,701. Counties show Carroll 280 pension recipients $9,180 and 48 ADC for 1,235. Whiteside 749 pension recipients 27,072 and 295 ADC 3,011.

County Supervisors Meet To Approve Election Expenses

Carroll county supervisors met at the courthouse on Tuesday to approve payments for the general election on Nov 5 and handle other matters. The board urged state lawmakers to sponsor tax levy legislation for poliomyelitis victims and designated farm committee members to attend the Illinois Welfare association conference in Peoria. Daniel Nipe 83 known as Mr Cerroll died Sunday at 10 in Clinton hospital after two weeks as a patient. Born Feb 14 1863 near Sevanna he lived in Carrell county his whole life. Hadtey 73, native of Ageo Fa Thomson area, died in Los Angeles Nov 3 after surgery. Funeral services held in Los Angeles and cremation followed. Clarinetist Don Coble in Illini Football Band

Don Coble of Chadwick plays B flat clarinet in the University of Illinois 175 piece football band. The band, part of the concert and regimental ensembles, conducts about 500 formations and over 30 musical numbers each season with two weekly rehearsals. The director is Mark H. Two Men Die In Savanna Route 80 Crash

World War II veteran Donald Schleming 23 of Chadwick was killed when the Chevrolet coach he rode in with Harold Stoner 27 crashed into a tree beside Route 80 at Chestnut Park Savanna. Stoner was severely injured and hospitalized. Coroner ruled the death an accident caused by the crash with no liquor observed on the driver.
