Parent 13 Fined For Not Sending Children To School
James Lambert living south of Savanna on Route 80 was fined $15 and costs in a Savanna city hall hearing for unlawfully keeping his children out of school. The fine was suspended if his children enroll at Chestnut Park school Monday. Lambert cited bus transportation disputes within District 72 as cause. The case was brought by truancy officer Donald Swingley. Also on the page, Frances Shimer Junior College in Mt. Carroll will host its first swimming meet of the season Saturday night November 18 at 8 o’clock with a small admission fee aiding the athletic association.
