End Grange Hall Dances Until Fall
May 22 marked the last Grange hall dance until September due to summer heat. More than 1,000 spectators attended the annual horse show Sunday at Glengarry Farm Stables near Mt. Carroll. Clark Awarded Bronze Star For Okinawa Heroic Action
Donald L. Clark of the 36011980 infantry earned the Bronze Star for risking his life on May 25 1945 at Okinawa Island. He crawled under heavy fire to aid a wounded comrade and continued evacuation despite severe arm wounds. His actions saved a fellow soldier and reflected credit on the military service.
