Health Board Organizes and Adopts Bylaws in Mt Carroll
County Board of Health members held a second organizational meeting at the Mt Carroll courthouse. Bylaws were discussed and adopted, and the new department will limit services to home nursing for Medicare-enrolled persons over 65. A nurse is to be hired, supplies procured, and operations slated to begin July 1.

Storm Wreaks Havoc Monday At Milledgeville
Heavy rain and high winds disrupted Milledgeville and nearby areas on Monday causing widespread damage. A stockyards cupola smashed a trailer home and a garage, toppled utility poles on the Burlington line, and injured no one. A barn collapsed on a car owned by William St Clair, a garage at Ewood Diehl’s, and a metal barn on Don Hollowell’s farm were torn apart. A concrete block garage at Clastic school was demolished though three buses remained undamaged.
