Mt Carroll high school's agricultural judging team earned fourth place at the sectional contest held Saturday at Mt Morris with Milledgeville taking fifteenth. Merry Circle Club Earns Second Prize and Appoints Chairs
At the May Merry Circle meeting in Mrs. Charles Kingerys home, president Mrs. Clarence Van Buskirk announced second prize in the state American Citizenship program contest. Mrs. Blaine McGinty received a bouquet for leading the department and three years of efforts. The club praised district convention attendance. total funds raised reached 123.05. Shannon Loses Dual Meet to Forreston
Shannon's high school track team lost to Forreston 97.5 to 58.5 on Forreston field. Forreston captured nine firsts and a tie. Shannon won three varsity events and swept several freshman sophomore events including the 440 yard relay, discus, and shot put. Shannon won the discus and the 880 yard run in varsity competition.
