Melon Pickers Win Easy Game From Indians

The Melon Pickers defeated the Camanche Indians 7 to 1 on the local diamond last Sunday. Howard Leavens led pitching in old-time form while Lute Clyde Blaine and Howard Leavens supported with solid defense and timely hitting. The four Leavens brothers wore gray uniforms with a watermelon insignia and the word Thomson across the chest, drawing attention as the team prepared and posed for photos. The game was fast, one error, and the local squad appeared ready for the season with steady improvement expected.
