Flames Destroy Farm Home Near Mt Carroll
A fire at the Flave Ness farm northeast of Mt Carroll caused about 1000 dollars in damage to the roof and upper story. Neighbors Mt Carroll Fire Department and CCC camp crews battled the blaze, starting 11 am Monday, using twenty chemical tanks. A chimney spark likely started the fire.

Stolen 1926 Plymouth Found Abandoned Near Thomson
A 1926 Plymouth coach stolen from Oris Keifer of Stockton was found abandoned four miles north of Thomson near the McWorthy farm after being spotted parked along the road. Police reported no major damage. Several cars were stolen in Fulton and Clinton recently with others recovered. a Buick sedan stolen from Clinton was found in Savanna with Illinois plates from a Freeport theft.
