A fire at Herman Senneff farm on Route 78 near Ideal destroyed a crib and machine shed with 150 bushels of corn and 250 bushels of oats burned. Some machinery was lost, both structures burned to the ground, and the fire was reported to Chadwick fire department. Insurance covers the loss.

Dan Knesa Lloyd Handel and Frank Zemke were fined 316 15 and 20 plus costs after pleading guilty to violating county board truck weight limits on gravel roads while hauling milk near Chadwick. Sheriff Eber Shepherd and County Judge Orion M Grove oversaw the hearing.
The annual meeting of the Oregon Production Credit Association is rescheduled for Monday March 23 1936 at 11 o clock at the Coliseum Oregon Illinois. About a thousand members and guests are invited and the event is open to all farmers and others in the area. Frank Thomas president urges stockholders to attend as two directors will be chosen for three years and reports will be presented. The association serves Boone Carroll DeKalb Jo Daviess Ogle Stephenson and Winnebago counties under the Farm Credit Act of 1933.
Miss Helen Vere of Savanna has been named as the new manager of the Savanna office of the NES. Her appointment took effect this week and she has been with the NEES office since it opened.
The Savanna Bridge Company moved its office on Monday. Fixtures of the Savanna-Satula Bridge Company were moved to the second door of the Commercial Bank building in Savanna. The office had been located on the second floor of the National Bank building for the past four years.
The will of the late Conrad Bertholf of Thomson is admitted to probate Monday in county court. The terms leave all possessions to a brother, Will Berthouf. Ike Carpenter was named as executor.
Four county high schools Chadwick Milledgeville Lanark brace for district band contests to be held in Sterling on Friday and Saturday March 27 and 28. Solo entries from Chadwick and Lanark listed by directors while Milledgeville plans no solos. Mt Carroll also considering entry. official program expected soon.
