January brought many births with numerous entries from Savanna Milledgeville Chadwick and more. Several deaths include Gertrude Busell Milledgeville Margaret Blair Thomson and others with interments across local cemeteries.
Frank Holman Sr. of Thomson recalls a 1882 accident when a rubber bullet pierced Mayor Cermak of Chicago, severing nerves and injuring his eye. Holman says he has carried the bullet 51 years and notes doctors preferred leaving it in place. He cites Civil War veterans with bullets retained without harm.
