The Interstate Power Company reports a net income rise of 154639 over 1959 with 8.126873 million in plant additions. Electric revenues up 4.12 percent and residential rates fall to 3.09 cents per kWh. Taxes total 7.169 million and power demand peaks at 232487 KW. The 24 page annual report mailed to over 21 500 shareholders and 1 200 employees, highlights solid reserves and service to more than 155 500 customers.

Ice Clears on Mississippi River From Savanna to Dam 13
Ice in the Mississippi River area from Savanna south to Dam 13 has broken up over the weekend. Ice below the dam also moved out of the channel, enabling potential return of commercial river traffic within a couple of weeks per Rock Island district engineers. Temperatures in the 40s have brought unusually mild weather with light snowfall noted Wednesday morning.
