The article describes a Bible school closing day with seven class programs held at the church. Approximately 102 people attended on average, and 93 children had perfect attendance over ten days. Mrs. Marian Wheeler, the general chairman, thanks children, teachers, and parents for cooperation.
A public meeting is scheduled at the grade school next Wednesday night at 8 00 PM. Everyone is urged to attend as a possible advisory committee may be formed to work with the school boards.
The 11th Creighton descendants reunion gathered 60 relatives on Sunday June 18 at the Picklum cottage in Riverview. Attendees traveled from Thomson Chadwick Savanna Fulton Pierson Rock Island Clinton Davenport and Tampa Fla. The greatest distance came from J and Mrs George Carrol of Tampa. The youngest was Dickie Legel of Fulton. The 1962 reunion will be at the same location on Father’s Day. Pony League games followed with Camanche winning 9 1 and Thom son losing 10 1 to Chadwick. Milledgeville Pony League slated to play next Monday at 6 PM.
Mr and Mrs George Riddler of Lanark have purchased the Clifford Ritchie cottage at Webs camp.
Mr and Mrs Paul Heusinkveld left Saturday for a three week fishing trip at Grand Rapids Minnesota. Their son Robert of Highland Park will return this weekend to Savanna where his wife and children are visiting the A M Greisons. Mrs Mabel Jobe of LaCrosse Wisconsin is visiting the Hoff family. Harold J Schroth of Morris son visits his grandmother Mrs Marian Wheeler. Mr and Mrs Frank Thompson of Pierson Station Illinois visited Mrs Ethel Kness. Mr and Mrs Ray Hook and family of Vancouver Washington plan a two week visit with his parents. Mr and Mrs Thomas McKee and family spent Sunday evening with his mother Mrs Elsie McKee in Argo.
After 120 years of service the Spring Valley one room school in Ustick dissolves as district boundaries shift. A final gathering Friday June 23 at 3 PM at the bus crossroads location will include a potluck at 6:30 and an evening program recounting the district history. Adam Aitken leads the committee with other local families as former teachers and residents are invited to attend.
Mr and Mrs Ray Morgan and family of Clinton and Mr and Mrs Kenneth Wiersema and son of Fulton were Sunday supper guests of Mr and Mrs Calvin Eslinger and family. Evening callers were Mr and Mrs George Busch of Fulton. Mr and Mrs Gilbert Holland and family and Rita Geddes of AdaMinn spent Sunday in the home of Mr and Mrs Frank Miller in Milledgeville.

Mrs. Betty Harvey along with the Harold Harvey family of Bettendorf Iowa and the John Ramirez family of Thomson attended a birthday picnic dinner for Don Harvey hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Don Harvey at their home.

Thirty five employees of the Middle States Telephone Co. of Illinois received safety and safe driving awards for 1960. Department heads presented the honors while Lloyd Godfriaux and Fred Bess distributed top and department awards. Awards cover 231 years without an on the job accident and nine company vehicles. Top safety honors went to George Hansen for 14 years, Robert Hubble 13 years, and others for extended service.
Mrs. Glen Raymond entertained at a towel shower for Miss Joann Jurgens on Wednesday afternoon. Games were played with prizes won by Mrs. Howard Leavens and Mrs. Curtis St. Ores. A lunch of angel food, supreme, and coffee followed for eight ladies present.

Miss Suzanne Atherton daughter of Mr and Mrs Harold Atherton Savanna and Joseph E Reifsteck son of Mr and Mrs Clyde Reifsteck Hanover were married in the Lutheran church at Hanover Saturday June 17 at 7 30 PM. The bride wore a light blue sheath dress with white accessories and a corsage of red roses. Attendant was Mrs Gene Kampmeier Hanover sister of the groom and Jerry Reifstock brother of the groom served as best man. Joseph is in the armed forces stationed at Fort Leonard Wood Mo and Mrs Reifstock is employed by Interstate Power Co Savanna.
Cub Pack 252 from Thomson traveled to Galena on Tuesday morning visiting Grant's home the museum and antique shops. They had a sack lunch and returned in the afternoon. Participants included Greg Flickinger ae Knuth Larry McWorthy and Mark and Bruce Brown with den mothers Mrs. Robert Knuth and Mrs. Jack Flickinger.
The Carl and Ray Robinson families held a reunion at Old Mill Park in Savannah with about one hundred attendees. Relatives came from Thomson Freeport Stockton Savanna Mill edgeville Hampton Ill and Clinton Iowa.

A candlelight ceremony at the Second Reformed church Fulton united Miss Betty Jane Feldt and Edwin Paul Balk in marriage. Relatives and friends attended a reception with 150 guests as the couple plans to reside in Fulton after a Wisconsin honeymoon.

Refreshments served by Halfman family and Mamie Montague. Social meet June 15 with nine members and eight juveniles. Laura Daehler led program.
