Despondent Elkhorn Creek drowning ends Bogott life
The inquest found William Bogott, 48, of Elkhorn Grove township, died by drowning in Elkhorn creek near Milledgeville Sunday evening after driving with a nurse to his mother’s home. Relatives searched, the body recovered after hours. A verdict of personal crisis drowning was returned. Funeral services were held Wednesday at his home.

Savanna Women Escape Injury In Auto Wreck
Mrs W B Engman and her mother Mrs Ida Gustafson, both of about a, escaped serious injury when their car skidded on wet pavement west of Leaf River and rolled down an embankment. They suffered bruises but were not thrown from the vehicle. They had been returning from Byron after visiting son and grandson Wilbur Engman, employed there. The damaged car was towed to a Leaf River garage for repairs and the trip home resumed.

A shipment of 450 young pheasants arrived last Thursday evening at the Savanna Ordnance Depot. Sent by the state conservation department, the birds will be reared in brood houses and later distributed to Carroll county Sportsmen’s Club chapters for release in local cover.
