Local Shipping Association Holds Sixth Annual Banquet
Thomson's Shipping Association gathered at Community High School for their annual election, program and banquet. The event drew large crowds with both gymnasium and auditorium filled, as directors were elected and a substantial banquet served to about 80 attendees. The address by Mr. Sykes, president of the Producers' Association, highlighted Chicago market issues and past efforts to harm the group, while volunteers and sponsors from Savanna and local communities supported the feast and logistics.

Arl mothers of York township and toddlers are invited to a Cradle Roll week party at the Christian church on Friday June eleventh from two to four. Beginners to pre school years may attend for two hours of fun and fellowship as Cradle Roll Superintendents note. Three measles cases in the Shirley Stage family are recorded in the Shirely area.

Home Economic club to meet June 18 at Argo church
Mrs Lulu Melendy assists ill at the Chas Lamb home in Clinton for a few days. Ben Wagner of Thomson helped Don Carpenter blast stumps on a clearing last week. Children's Day was observed Sunday evening with an appreciative audience. The Home Economic club plans its June meeting Friday June 18 at Argo church parlor with hostesses Ruth Hicks Madge Bowers Lulu Melendy and Hazel Green. The program includes remarks by President Gertrude Foltz on her State Institute trip, officer elections, and a schedule of music papers and songs including Anne Laurie America the Beautiful and Who Wrote Our Patriotic Songs.

Alumni members from Thomton High School and York Community High School held their annual meeting on Friday evening June 4. Fay Green chaired. J. J. Sheridan gave the welcome, Bert Rawlins of the 1926 class responded. Mrs. Lorenzen sang. John Connell served as toastmaster. a gymnasium party dance was approved by vote. Officers for the coming year were Otto Switzer president, Herbert St. Ores vice president, Kyle Melendy secretary treasurer.

First Concert Big Success
Saturday evening's open air concert drew a large crowd as Thomson's band showed marked improvement since last fall. Attendance is encouraged all summer, with concerts every Saturday from 8 to 9 pm. Ivan Lewis, using crutches, was hurt in a tractor incident but is recovering. Willis Greeley suffered a head wound last week, unconscious briefly, now regaining strength. An omission in the Band ad omitted Bennett's restaurant. Prof. Darrow reported final furniture loac from Columbus Ject., Iowa.

Graduation of York Community High School Class of 1926
Ten students graduated from York Community High School on Friday evening May 28 at the Christian church. Diplomas were presented by C. H. Jenkins as Rev. C. C. Carpenter of Central Christian Church espoused the theme Conquering. Salutatorian Franklin Martindale and valedictorian Herbert Rawlins led a structured program with music by the school orchestra and quartet.
