The Community High School drew the largest crowd of the year as Thomson Shipping Assoc held its annual banquet and officer election on a Monday evening despite threatening weather. County Agent Bliss showed farm education films, Kness’s Orchestra played, and Clinton Geary opened the program. About forty seats were empty while fifty votes were cast for directors in adjoining rooms.

Local Boys Rout Chestnut Park in Easy Sat. Baseball
Local hurlers Howard and Blaine Leavens pitched well as Thomson beat Savanna Chestnut Park 10 to 8 in an open game on Decoration Day weekend. The Thomson Red Spots defeated the Comanche Indians 8 to 4 on the local diamond for their second win in a week. Errors by the home team and earned runs by the Indians, along with several misplays, gave chances to both sides. Ted Stamp pitched well for Comanche, while Mickey O'Brien pitched well for Thomson. Attendance was light due to other events in nearby towns. Miss Charlotte Rice arrived Friday for a visit at the Ed Knapps home after a successful school year in Litchfield Minnesota.
