Leroy G. Prins, son of Mr and Mrs Albert Prins of Thomson Iowa, qualified as a carrier pilot after six successful landings on USS Monterey in the Gulf of Mexico. He trained at U S Naval Air Station Pensacola and Corry Field and will pursue instrument flying toward earning Navy Wings of Gold. Local relatives and friends joined in weekend visits and suppers.
