Harry Abrams 71 of Chicago who ran a Mt. Carroll poultry and egg business for about 40 years died Monday at his Chicago home, apparently of a heart attack. Survivors include son Israel in Chicago and daughters Mrs. A. S. Shulman of Chicago and Ann Abrams of California. Funeral services and burial were to be held in Chicago.

Rock Island Illinois river traffic declined as weekend rain reduced recreational use at locks. Lock No. 14 LeClaire recorded 279 boats and 451 passengers in 76 lockages, while Lock No. 15 Rock Island had 72 lockages with 188 boats and 1,354 passengers. Fatal crash at park entrance claims Aurora woman
An Aurora woman, Majerite Cinto, 34, died after a rear end collision at the Miller Hollow campground entrance in Mississippi Palisades state park.
