Carroll county farmers attend Mzeing in Quincy

Carroll county sent a large delegation to the annual Mzeing meeting in Quincy this week. Representatives from Milledgeville Lanark Salem Chadwick and Washing ton two Branches of the IAA and farm bureau subsidiaries attended. Officers for the coming year and proposed amendments are voted on as divisions such as Livestock Marketing Milk Marketing Co operative creameries and Taxation and Legislation discuss their problems and reports.

Farm account audits to be held in Carroll county

Carroll county farmers who kept farm accounts in 1934 will have audits next week by University of Illinois officials. The sessions run Monday in Mt Carroll, Tuesday in Lanark, and Wednesday in Chadwick with M P Roske urging all farmers to bring books.

Buckingham resigns as county relief administrator

Clyde Buckingham, who led the Hainois emergency relief commission local office, tendered his resignation effective today. Oro F. Kui, district representative, will oversee operations until a successor is named. Buckingham supervised relief clients for three township areas Savanna Mt Carroll and Freeport.

Plan to Fight Chin ch Bugs Early In Carroll County

Farmers in Carroll County plan an early attack on chinch bugs amid survey warnings of a potential menace in 1935. State entomologist L H Shropshire will join county officials at a Feb meeting to discuss rubbish cleanup crop rotations and chinch bug resistant crops to protect next year’s corn.

Relief survey totals 827 persons in Carroll County

The county reports 827 people from 242 families applied for yard goods relief. Circles group towns like Savanna 91 families 308 persons and Mt. Carroll 28 families 85 persons. Shannon township records the highest average 7.45 persons per family while Savanna has most people but fewer per family. Also Dr W L Derrer added as Junior Veterinarian in Bang disease work and real estate transfers noted for Curt A Miske.

Carroll County Raises Funds for Infantile Paralysis

Hundreds of Carroll County residents attended birthday fundraisers in three towns honoring Franklin D Roosevelt. The balls gathered money for infantile paralysis relief with 70 percent directed to local rehabilitation and 30 percent to a national commission. The event followed nationwide efforts that last year raised about 2 million dollars for Warm Springs Foundation, aiding those crippled by the disease.
