Letter from Maywood resident on bank run experience
A Maywood resident writes of a run on the Proviso and Maywood State Banks. Crowds formed as $60,000,000 reportedly withdrawn, a tabled man warned of insufficient funds, and a banker from another town urged patience. The author notes temporary closures, hopes for a quick return, and describes a Christmas party for children and church activities amid the turmoil.
