John E Hicks laid to rest in Chadwick obituary
John E Hicks longtime Chadwick resident and creamery owner died of heart trouble at 70. He moved to Illinois fifty years ago and helped run the Chadwick creamery with Geo Melendy before it closed in 1916. Burial followed Dec 29 at Lower York Cemetery with pallbearers named.

Thomson Village Board Proceedings January 4 1932
The Thomson village board met in regular session with all trustees present and President Bayard Lewis in the chair. Bills for utilities, street lighting, water, and salaries were reviewed and referred to the Finance Committee for approval. The treasurer reported a treasury balance of 1707.20 and noted water rent increases and pumping savings from new meters. Adjournment followed with New Year greetings from George Gresbey and family.

Daughter of former teacher ill in Michigan during visit
Mrs Elaine Bielema and her husband Mr M M Bielema, former Pearl City educator, were visiting Fal mouth Michigan with Mr Bielema’s parents when Elaine suddenly fell ill. A doctor called for a nurse as her condition was diagnosed as intestinal flu after days of uncertainty. The family expected to return to Pearl City once conditions permit.
