Charles Wertz of near Danian pleaded guilty in a county court to a charge connected with the Chicago Milwaukee and St. Paul railroad. County contract signups show 64 percent in 1934 program
Sixty four percent of contracts in force under the 1934 corn hog reduction program were signed by 11 Carroll county farmers at ten meetings last week. Farm adviser M D Roske says the strong turnout signals growing interest in the liberalized program with no idle-acre requirement for cooperators except a ten percent minimum on corn. Additional meetings are scheduled March 4 Shannon, March 5 Lanark, March 5 Forensen Savanna, March 3 Forensen Thomson, March 6 Mt Carroll and Milledgeville, March 7 Chadock.

Robert Peters Sentenced for Larceny in State Penitentiary
Robert Peters of Lanark was sentenced by Judge Albert H. Manus in Freeport circuit court to 1 to 10 years in the state penitentiary for larceny. He pled guilty to stealing a number of cattle from the Frank Zier farm last June. The November grand jury indicted both Peters and Robert Lower of Lanark. Lower was acquitted in Mt. Carroll after a prior trial.

IRE DESTROYS FARM HOME NEAR MILLEDGEVILLE
A tenant house on the Fred Volker farm three and one half miles south of Milledgeville was entirely destroyed by fire last Thursday morning. No one was there at the time. Mrs Glarence Howe and her husband were away. Furnishings and clothing were lost and the two story frame house razed. Origin of the fire is unknown.
