Morrison man not at fault in auto death
Sergeant Sidney Sullivan of the Chicago police was struck and killed early Sunday on Roosevelt Road near Hillside Illinois by a car driven by Ross Bogett of Morrison. Bogett said he braked and swerved to avoid the sergeant but ice on the road prevented stopping in time. a coroner’s jury cleared Bogett of blame. Sullivan, 53, walked to investigate a disturbance when hit. he served 23 years and was chief of detectives John Sullivan’s brother. He left a widow, a son Thomas 18, and a daughter six.
