Mrs Helen Falls co owner Maple Lawn Nursing Home Thomson Savanna area died Tuesday afternoon at her daughter’s home in Savanna after recent surgery. funeral Friday 1 30 pm Hunt er Jones Memorial Savanna with Rev William Moore officiating. Burial Savanna Township Cemetery. She was born 1898 in Savanna and survived by husband three daughters three sons two brothers a sister 18 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

DeKalb Woman Student Teacher at Thomson High

Miss Barbara Platt of DeKalb, a senior at Northern Illinois University, arrived in Thomson to begin practice teaching at York Community High School under Mrs. Rubye Hill. She will teach until March 25 and rooms in the Mervin Marshall home during her stay.

Patricia Eissens Wins Betty Crocker Award at York High

Patricia Eissens daughter of Theresa Eisens of Thomson earned the 1966 Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow title at York Community High School after scoring highest on a December 7 1965 written knowledge and attitude exam. She already holds a General Mills sponsor pin and becomes eligible for state and national scholarships.

Cub Scouts Plan Scout Week February 7 13

Cub Scouts Pack 252 held a January 22 meeting at the grade school. Den 3 led opening ceremonies and awarded Wolf and Bear badges with arrows. four Webelos advance. A skit by Dens 1 and 3 followed, with a transportation theme. Scout week runs February 7 13 with Uniform Day on February 8 and Scout Sunday on February 13. Savanna Tavern Owner Robbed Early Saturday

John Williamson owner of the B and W tavern in Savanna was robbed by two masked men who beat him and stole about $1400 in cash and $2700 in railroad checks then dumped him along a road in 20 below zero. They drove his car toward the bluffs and abandoned it later in the Oak Park area of Savanna.

County Swine School Adds Two More Sessions
