Shipping association shipped a carload of stock to Cochran Henery and Wallace Co. in Chicago on Wednesday. Stockholders listed include Lloyd Smith, Smith & Shoemaker with 25 steers and heifers, Edson Holland with 3 bull, Frank Smith with 4 calves. Lloyd and Frank Smith accompanied the stock to Chicago. The association also received tar of mixed feed and 5 tons of tankage this week.
Thomson locals report the Watermelon Trio Louie Res Harriett Smith and Sylvia Griswold will perform in Lanark on Tuesday Feb 7 as part of the Car 208 Service program. Afternoon selections include The More We Get Together Silver Haired Daddy of Mine Polly Wally Deadis7 and Till We Meet Again.
Sunday school at 10:00 followed by morning worship at 11:00 and evening service at 7:30 with topics The Missionary Idea in the Gospels and Spiritual Renewal. A youth social is planned for Feb 10. A reception honored Rev and Mrs Todd and Mr and Mrs Hite Green with gifts and refreshments provided by members.
The Methodist Church announces a 6:00 PM Young People service and 7:30 PM evening worship with the theme Lest we Forget. Morning worship focuses on Hear and understand with a Bible program. choir selections planned for next Sunday morning.

Mr and Mrs Albert Perry celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary Sunday with a goose dinner and social afternoon for guests Ila toe Musser and Mry Reynolds.

Mr and Mrs Herman Francke hosted an all day open house for their 50th wedding anniversary with 109 callers. The event featured angel food cake and other desserts prepared by local cooks and a supper attended by family and friends including the Francke and Derrer households from Mt Carroll Hanover Savanna and Galena.
The Thomson Independents Basketball team lost 29 to 23 to Clinton on Thursday and beat Ja Daviess Wade 49 to 41 on Friday at Elizabeth. They host Lanark next, with Frosch from Ravanna among visiting stars, and plan more exhibitions against Comanche Indians and DeWitt. An Mt. Morris tournament is set for Feb 23 to 25, with strict amateur rules allowing ten players in uniform.
York Community basketball hosts Sabula on February 7 in a preliminary between lightweights. Games start at 7 04 and 8 00, admission 3 cents and three cents. On Friday night the varsity will travel to Savanna to meet Savanna Township lightweight team.
