A strong wind fueled a blaze destroying the four room cottage of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Smith at Riverview resort north of Thomson. On the Chicago livestock market last week 22 steers weighing 1183 pounds sold at 30 dollars per hundred. Albert Schreiner of Carroll County also sold a 1430 pound steer at 35 dollars.
