Ed Olson born near the Baltic Sea built a strong farming life in Carroll County. After 30 years at sea he moved to America in 1890 and bought a 240 acre farm in Fair Haven. A herd of 15 grade Guernsey and Holstein cows owned by Holland and Pratt of Thomson led the Carroll County Dairy Herd Improvement Association in November, averaging 45.2 lbs of butterfat and 1081 lbs of milk per cow. The association average was 25.4 lbs butterfat and 614 lbs milk, with 64 cows over 40 lbs butterfat.

Russell Diehl of Savanna suffered minor injuries when his car collided at the junction of Route 80 and 52 in East Savanna with a vehicle driven by Sidney Brenneman of Thomson. Diehl received first aid at Savanna hospital. Brenneman was not hurt. both cars damaged.

Funeral services for William Fisher 74 longtime Shannon township supervisor who resigned weeks earlier due to illness were held with burial in Brethren cemetery. Born December 10 1867 in Stephenson County he married Amanda Good in 1891 and lived 48 years in the family Shannon home. Surviving are his widow a daughter Mrs Earl Carbaugh Lanark four grandchildren two brothers Simon Shannon and Edward Oak Park.
