A local boy avoided serious injury after an incident Monday. Meal plan notes describe school lunches for the week from Tuesday to Friday with spaghetti, beans, Salisbury steaks, wieners, and various sides and desserts.

Highway accident injures seventh grader near Thomson

Clarence Hartson, a Thomson Grade School seventh grader, was hit by a delivery truck on highway 84 while walking home with a friend. The driver, Joseph Valentine Michi, was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions. Hartson was treated at Savanna City Hospital after the incident.

Interstate Power completes four inch natural gas line from Thomson to Argo Fa along Highway 84 serving farms and homes with 50 pound pressure. Donaldson Construction crews started two weeks ago and one inch service lines installed on both sides of Argo Fa roads to facilitate residential hookups. Feasibility being studied for extending service north of Thomson and to Riverview in coming years.

In Carroll County history notes from Harry E. Pratt Lincoln's Black Hawk War captaincy is recounted with 1833 routes from Bears Town to Dixon's Ferry and Prophetstown.
