It's Time to Care PTA Theme Adopted by Thomson Group
The Thomson PTA Executive Board met August 14 with 16 present. President Mrs Gene Halfman announced It's Time To Care as the year's program theme and listed officers and committees for the year. The Teacher's Luncheon is scheduled August 26 in the school cafeteria. PTA meetings occur the second Thursday monthly with nursery care, except December and February, and the Executive Board meets the fourth Thursday monthly.

Carroll County 4-H began judging livestock with top honors to Chadwick and Shannon members in sheep and dairy cattle. Diane Smith of Chadwick won grand dairy Holstein and senior purebred. Thomson Community Unit School Board hires personnel
The Thomson board approved a bus driver contract for Bruce Groharing and hired Dwayne Bielema to drive buses and answer emergency calls at 2.50 per hour. Vi Daehler will transport EMH students for 8 dollars a day. Mrs. Mary Jane Fiet and Mrs. Dorothy Bennett were assigned supervisory and custodial duties respectively.

Linker Seeks Con Con Candidacy for Constitutional Convention
Bill Linker of Chadwick Illinois filed as a candidate for the Constitutional Convention. Born on a Carroll County farm, he farmed for years and served 24 years as Agency Manager for White County Farm Bureau Insurance Service. He held school director posts, led the Carroll County Farm Bureau and Fair Board, and remains active in Morrison Rotary and Hope United Methodist Church. He pledges to represent the 35th District fairly and opposes geographic bias in state governance.
