Old Sand Slough near Savanna opened this spring by Thomson parties draws hundreds for fishing and boating with twenty boats, shade, picnic tables, good water, and miles of water held by a south dam for ideal summer fishing. Managers promote a day trip during Thomson visits for melons and summer fun along the river.

Ill health forces closing of entire hardware stock and fixtures in Thomson. Auction set for Saturday August 28 starting at 1 PM. Stock purchased new March 1926. See large bills for details and complete list. Clarence Bolhous will assist buyers and make visits successful.
