Funeral services were held Wednesday for Mrs. Hen Hebeler 76 who died Monday at Savanna City Hospital. Rev W G Hoffman officiated at Law funeral home Savanna with organist Mrs Raymond Phillips and soloist Mrs W G Hoffman. Burial followed in Lower York cemetery Thomson. Survivors include four sons Edward and Robert Savanna Leonard and Kenneth Thomson two sisters Mrs William Cassell and Mrs Gus Peters Clinton and 27 grandchildren.

George Gabby Hayes famed Western star will greet fans at Carroll County Fair free grandstand on Sunday August 14. Hayes known for Windy in Hopalong Cassidy films and noted for his whiskers and dry wit will join visitors and local crowds in a rare in-person appearance. In the second game Monday, the Thomson Melon Tossers crushed General Electric 7-2 as Truninger earned the win and Thomson outhit GE 10-4.
