Local Boys Compete in Calf Scramble at Carroll County Fair
Arlyn Huizenga and Larry Hook of the Thomson FFA Chapter represented the Thom son community in the calf scramble at the Carroll County Fair August 12 at 7 p m. Two boys from each community vied for seven calves donated by firms across the county. Junior McGinnis, who won a calf last year, showed his calf this year.

The 9th annual Kauffman family reunion took place Sunday August 6 at Joe Kauffman’s Savanna home. The gathering honored the oldest member Clint Kauffman and the youngest Lorrie Lynn Beck, with one death and six births reported in the year.
