Jorgen Lynggaard Boll from Odense Denmark will train at Randolph Service Company in Sparta Illinois for about three months starting mid August. He will stay with a private family, earn 200 dollars per month, and arrive around August 12 after earning a diploma from Nordisk Landboskole. The visit supports the Future Farmers of America international program.

Corps to Repair Dam 13 Dike in Iowa and Illinois
The Rock Island District of the Corps of Engineers will open bids at 11 am Tuesday August 19 for 3500 tons of riprap rock to repair the non submersible dike at the Iowa end of Dam No 13 north of Clinton and the upper approach dike to Lock No 13 north of Fulton Illinois. Delivery starts September 2 and runs to September 26 with rock delivered to nearby docks for placement aboard government barges. The channel maintenance crew will perform the repair work.
