A state education department recognition is awarded to Hitt Rural School near Milledgeville for 18 students and 862 pupils enrolled. Thurston Larber teaches, and the award ceremony will occur soon, per Lawrence Bruch, county superintendent of schools.
Jury selection completed in Morrison for Clyde Hamilton 23 of Fulton facing a manslaughter charge tied to the July auto crash that killed Harry Wickes of East Clinton. Testimony began after 2 pm as Wickes’ car and Wickes were described in the Route 80 collision north of Fulton.
The Carroll county allotment committee distributed about $38 445 in LYSG benefit checks to farmers via cooperative offices last Thursday and Tuesday. The committee is hearing written appeals from farmers seeking larger acreage or fairer soil depletion bases, noting state fixed limits prevent individual increases without broader adjustments.

Principal Wasemann and coach McCarthy retain roles. additional teaching duties assigned to Strahecker.
