What is a Farmer as Paradox and Partner of the Land
A farmer is portrayed as an executive scientist and purchasing agent with a hat and grease stained hands. He blends faith and fatalism as he battles droughts floods pests and price squeezes while guiding field work from plowing to harvest. He is a countryman with family, neighbors, and the market's up as noon arrives. Carroll County farmers are pictured in early spring soil work under clear shirt sleeve weather.
