Anderson Reasoning on Pueblo Case Sparks House Debate
In a House speech Congressman John B. Anderson alleged the U S Government may have entered a ransom deal with North Korea for the Pueblo and its crew. He cited a Tilton Publications editor as a source and claimed a nighttime shipment of 20 Avco mowers and other farm implements purchased without bidding was planned to move to Texas and Kentucky. He called for replies from the State and Defense Secretaries.
