Next Year’s First Graders Honored At Tea
Twenty five next year’s first graders and their mothers plus the kindergarten teacher Mrs Allan Becker were guests at the annual Spring Round-up tea in the grade school play room last Tuesday. Speakers included Mr Morelli the principal Mrs R C Bush PTA president and Miss Ruth Allen county nurse. Children toured the first grade rooms and rode a school bus. Lunch featured cookies and milk while mothers enjoyed cake mints nuts and coffee from orchids pink and white decor. Myles Haas prepared table decorations. Room mothers and helpers listed include Mrs Lawrence Halfman Mrs Leslie Grim Mrs Tom McKee Mrs Geradus Vogel and others.

Mark Diephuis, 18 months, broke his shoulder playing at relatives’ home and was x rayed and placed in splints at a Clinton hospital. Mrs W A Adams fell and sprained her wrist and remains bedfast. Alfred St. Ores 85 of Thomson died at Morrison Community Hospital after a period as a patient. His brother William St. Ores 97 of Oaks North Dakota passed away earlier Monday. Alfred’s funeral is set for Friday at York Community Church with burial in Lower York Cemetery. he was an interior decorator and lifelong Thomson resident with no husband. He is survived by two sisters and several nieces and nephews.
